Hand crafted necklace and earrings made of Swarovski Red Crystal and Czech seed beads. The centerpiece is removable. The pattern of the white and red seed beads if one of my own creations though I’m sure another bead crochet expert has also developed the design.

Materials:

• Swarovski Crystal
  
• Czech glass seed beads
  
• Tiny delica seed beads
  
• Sterling Silver lever-back ear wire
  
• Sterling Silver clasp
  

 

Necklace: I designed this necklace to work well with white and red. The beads are glass and the soft white thread is a 3-ply twisted multi-filament nylon. The red beads are size 8 Czech glass beads. The white beads are also size 8 Czech glass beads. The pattern used with these beads cause a linear effect. This hand crafted necklace has handmade sterling silver clasp. The Swarovski Crystal slides and can be removed.

 

Earrings: These earrings enhance the necklace by using a simple tear drop for a hint of color. The earring wire is Sterling Silver. The seed beads are from the same dye lot as the necklace.

 

Care and cleaning:

Hand wash necklace and earrings using household dish soap and water. Lay flat to dry overnight. You can use standard jeweler’s polishing cloth on the earring posts. I do not recommend chemical cleaning because it may discolor the glass beads.

 

About Bead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s. Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
